"When friendship starts to look a lot like something else."
Friend Benefit follows four friends in their late twenties as they navigate the blurry line between friendship and romantic love. What begins as a casual agreement between two of them to keep things 'casual' quickly spirals into a four-year story about intimacy, honesty and the limits of what we ask the people closest to us to carry.
The series premiered in 2024 to a 9.4/10 audience score and a 96% critics rating on leading review aggregators. Its second-season finale became the most-watched single episode in Star Studio history, and a fourth and final season is currently in production.
Created by writer-director Lee Min-ji and produced entirely in-house at Star Studio's Seoul stage, Friend Benefit is a defining example of the kind of long-form, character-driven work the studio was built to make.
