"Four tracks. One night. One take. One room."
Midnight Echo is a four-track live EP recorded in a single overnight session at the Star Studio stage in Seoul. The entire record — including vocals, instrumentation and final mix — was captured live to tape in less than five hours, with no overdubs and no edits.
Released as a companion to CORTIS's 2024 world tour, the EP was originally planned as a limited-edition vinyl release for tour attendees. Demand was such that Star Studio decided to make it available digitally a month later, and a vinyl pressing followed in early 2025.
Critics called it 'the most honest record CORTIS have ever made' — a stripped-back document of the group's musicianship and the kind of unguarded performance that is increasingly rare in the streaming era.
